About Me

I’m Brie James, a Portland-based Product Strategist and UX researcher partnering with small businesses, both new and established, to build thoughtful email systems and digital experiences that reflect their authentic voice and intention. I design clean, intentional Squarespace websites and email strategies for wellness practitioners, makers, studios, and independent brands who want to communicate clearly, connect deeply, and grow with purpose.

My background in user experience research allows me to approach each project strategically. I combine insights about how people engage, learn, and connect with the creative, intentional design work that makes digital experiences not just functional, but meaningful and memorable.

I’ve been a Portland resident since 2001, with a brief stint in San Diego, where I returned with a special souvenir, my youngest son. I’m a single mom of two amazing kids, and my family is at the center of everything I do. Community is the cornerstone of my life and work. I collaborate with local businesses while exploring and sharing my diverse skills and talents. Cultivating community, both in Portland and online, is deeply important to me. I frequently visit these communities, especially in New England, to connect, learn, and contribute.

Through my journey, which has included holistic aesthetics, personal training, licensed massage therapy, interior design, tarot, and energy work, I’ve learned how to bring creativity, strategy, and heart into every project. Many of my peers and clients have come to me for support with email, website design, branding, and content, and I’ve helped bars, clothing brands, wellness practitioners, and creative studios grow their businesses and strengthen their connections.

I thrive working with clients who want to create something intentional, bold, and authentic. Whether refining messaging, designing an email strategy, or building a digital experience, I bring a combination of UX insight, design sensibility, and strategic thinking to every collaboration.

Today, I work in Product Design as a User Experience Researcher/Product Strategist by day and partner with small businesses on the side, supporting founders in Portland and beyond as they communicate their vision, nurture their community, and grow with clarity and confidence.
